The 10cm mini pocket spring core brings the responsive, naturally airy feel of a traditional sprung mattress scaled down and engineered specifically for children's weight and sleeping patterns.
Mini Pocket Springs That Move with Your Child
Unlike open coil springs, which act as one connected unit, the 10cm mini pocket springs in the Birch are individually wrapped meaning each spring compresses and responds independently. This means the mattress contours more precisely to the child's body shape, supporting lighter pressure points without over-compressing under heavier ones.
It also means significantly reduced motion transfer across the sleeping surface, so a child who wakes and moves around at night is less likely to disturb a sibling sharing a room or a parent sleeping nearby.

Unboxing
- This mattresses is rolled and vacuum packed, so should be removed from the packaging as soon as possible after delivery
- Once unrolled, please allow up to 24 hours for the mattress to fully expand and recover to its intended shape and comfort level
- During the first few hours, the mattress may feel slightly firmer than expected – this will settle as it fully expands
- Some customers may notice a slight, harmless smell when first opening the mattress. This is known as off-gassing, which is normal for newly manufactured foam products. The smell is temporary and typically dissipates within a few hours to a couple of days. We recommend placing the mattress in a well-ventilated room during this time to help the process
